#GO100PA: A RENEWABLE FUTURE FOR PENNSYLVANIA
Harrisburg, PA − September 21, 2021 − Senator Amanda M. Cappelletti (D- Montgomery, Delaware), Senator Katie Muth (D- Berks, Chester, Montgomery), Representative Christopher Rabb (D-Philadelphia), Representative Danielle Friel Otten (D-Chester) joined Flora Cardoni, Field Director for PennEnvironment, in advocating for bold climate action now. The legislators and advocates were calling for “Go 100 PA,” legislation that would put Pennsylvania on track to reach 100 percent renewable energy by 2050. As illustrated by Hurricane Ida, which displaced hundreds of Pennsylvanians and caused over $100 million in damage, it is clear that the Commonwealth is feeling the effects of climate change here and now. These legislators put the responsibility on the legislature to act now.

Go 100% Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania’s transition to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050 must start now!
On April 21st, 2021, we will be introducing legislation to transition Pennsylvania to 100% renewable energy by 2050.
Article 1, Section 27 of our state constitution declares the commonwealth’s natural resources “are the common property of all the people, including generations yet to come.”
To honor our oath to uphold our founding document — one of only two states nationwide to enshrine within our constitution the venerable duty of environmental stewardship— we as legislators must protect Pennsylvania’s air, land, and water from pollution.
The science is clear: the climate crisis is happening, it’s caused by human activity, and the consequences of inaction will be severe. The Commonwealth is already feeling the effects of climate change.
